Start of Broncos training camp feels more natural

That tinge of enthusiasm is tied to Vic Fangio, the coaching staff he has in place, and the direction of the Broncos.

There is always excitement at the start of a Denver Broncos season.

Yes, some will take the Allen Iverson “we’re talking about practice” route. But even those fuddy-duddies have to admit a tinge of enthusiasm over the start of Broncos training camp in a few days. And most of that (all of that?) is due to Vic Fangio and his gray sweats.

As I told Adam Malnati on the MHR Radio Podcast (ApplePodcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher), that’s the biggest difference between the start of Denver’s training camp this year, as opposed to last year in particular (even the last two years). I’ve mentioned this before, but the excitement seemed forced the last two years. This is more natural. Whether that correlates to success in the regular season, time will tell. But that certainly seems connected, doesn’t it?

The excitement, at least in my opinion, is over the direction of the team thanks to the hiring of Fangio and the coaching staff he has in place. The consensus from the players at organized team activities and minicamp is how awesome the systems are for the offense and defense, respectively. How, in the words of Bradley Chubb, it’s already becoming second nature for the players. Over the course of 19 open practices, fans will finally get to see whether their emotion is warranted and how much different the practices look and feel compared to the last two years.

Buckle up, Broncos fans. This is the last football free weekend for the next six months or so. The excitement because of that feels more natural.
