Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Amari Cooper has been sidelined throughout the preseason with a foot injury. The longer the ailment lingers, the more concerned Dallas has to be. It was initially considered a minor issue. With Dallas set to open up its regular-season slate in fewer than two weeks, head coach Jason Garrett noted on Monday that he fully expects Cooper to be available for Week 1. While that sounds like positive information, the fact that Cooper won’t practice this week has to be cause for alarm. That’s especially true when it comes to Cooper’s ability to make the necessary cuts as a receiver. Cooper, 25, is entering his first full season as a member of the Cowboys. He recorded 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns in nine games with the Cowboys in 2018 after being acquired from the Oakland Raiders in a midseason trade. Cooper is also set to hit free agency in March if the two sides can’t come to terms on a long-term extension. They are said to be at a sticking point in talks right now
