While we’re talking about roster spots being at a premium for positions like wide receiver and defensive tackle, Gruden is apparently stuck on his quarterbacks. He can’t seem to make up his mind between Mike Glennon and Nathan Peterman so he’s supposedly going to keep both according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The #Raiders are expected to keep 3 QBs, with Mike Glennon slotting in behind starter Derek Carr, source said. Coach Jon Gruden really does like Nathan Peterman and wants to help resurrect his career. Peterman should stick, too.

If it were between the two, Mike Glennon gets the nod. He’s been the next up after Derek Carr at QB all training camp and preseason. That order has remained unchanged. But Gruden has a soft spot for this Nate Peterman, who he said was “growing on him.”
He wouldn’t be the first to see Peterman as having a lot more potential than he’s showed entering his third NFL season. He was known for throwing a lot of interceptions for the Bills in his two years there. He has 12 interceptions in just 4 NFL starts. That’s an average of 3 picks a start.
This preseason he’s more known for NOT taking chances. He averaged 5.2 yards per attempt in the preseason finale against the Seahawks. He’s taking care of the ball like he’s shell shocked from all the turnovers early in his career. Sounds like Gruden wants to make him his pet project. Question is which talented bubble player gets cut to make room for him.
