Watch: Jimmy Garoppolo throws INT on second pass back from injury

This is not how the San Francisco 49ers envisioned Jimmy Garoppolo’s return to action after missing about 11 months to a torn ACL. In just his second pass attempt Monday night against the Denver Broncos, Garoppolo was intercepted by second-year cornerback Isaac Yiadom. Sure the Broncos had pressure in Garoppolo’s face, but he needs to know better than to make that pass. You can’t throw late to the outside, even in single coverage. Interceptions were somewhat of a concern for Garoppolo in the eight games he started for the team after being acquired from the New England Patriots during the 2017 season. After seeing Garoppolo toss five consecutive picks during practice last week, this is not the way he wanted to start in his first game back since Week 3 of the 2018 campaign. Ouch!
