Week 3 of the 2019 season just got a lot easier for the Cowboys thanks to the Houston Texans

One of the Cowboys opponents looks a lot less intimidating.

Saturday was a wild day as 53-man rosters were established all across the National Football League (you can see the who the Cowboys decided to roll with right here).

This day has come to be known for big trades in recent history and this year was no exception. The Houston Texans had been negotiating with defensive star Jadeveon Clowney unsuccessfully for some time, and when they finally reached an impasse they ultimately decided to trade him to the Seattle Seahawks.

Clowney wasn’t the only thing that Houston traded away on Saturday, though. After a few hours of the internet offering their opinions (all good things, that’s usually how the internet rolls, right?) on Houston’s front office the Texans struck again and acquired left tackle Laremy Tunsil from the Miami Dolphins.

Why is this significant to us? How does this affect the Dallas Cowboys? The answer is simple and it’s a month from now. The Cowboys host the Dolphins in Week 3 this season.

The game against Miami already looked like one of the least menacing on the Cowboys schedule, but when you factor in that the quarterback for the contest will likely be Ryan Fitzpatrick and that he won’t have a legitimate left tackle protecting him, well, you have to like the Cowboys chances.

Dallas has every opportunity to start the season strong with three games that don’t look too bad as of now (New York, at Washington, Miami). They’ll get Robert Quinn back for the Dolphins game (they’re the team that traded him away, mind you) and now he’ll get to rush against someone who wasn’t necessarily preparing to be the team’s starter up until this point.

That’s good for the Cowboys. Very good.
