Mike Florio over at PFT is reporting that per multiple sources, Vikings wide receiver Jeff Badet has been released as part of the Vikings effort to get their roster down to 53 players by tomorrow.
Badet was perhaps the fastest player on the Vikings roster, with 4.3” 40 speed, but he was unable to parley that into a roster spot. Badet was on the practice squad last year, and that remains an option if he clears waivers this year.
In any case, Badet’s services as a wide receiver and special teamer are available for any team willing to give him a roster spot. We’ll see what happens.
Badet missed the last two preseason games with what appeared to be some sort of injury, and as the saying goes, ““you can’t make the club if you’re in the tub.”
The Vikings still have many more cuts to make, so stayed tuned.
