The Titans have released their week 1 depth chart. You can see it here. For some reason they did not list Reggie Gilbert on it, so it only includes 52 players. When talking about the depth chart that is listed online, we have to always use the disclaimer that it is unofficial. Mike Vrabel said that he had a hand in putting out the one that came out at the beginning of training camp, but that didn’t seem likely after he was asked a couple of questions about it. The depth chart listed online is usually done by someone in the PR department.
Here are some things that stood out to me when looking at the Titans week 1 depth chart:
- The Titans are extremely thin at offensive tackle currently. In fact, they only have two tackles listed with Taylor Lewan not on it because of his suspension. Kevin Pamphile would slide over and play tackle if Jack Conklin or Dennis Kelly got hurt.
- They listed 3 starting wide receivers. That is a change from the two tight ends we have seen listed as starters for the last 100 years. Tajae Share is listed as a starting receiver alongside Corey Davis and Adam Humphries.
- Rashaan Evans and Jayon Brown are listed as the starting inside linebackers, but Wesley Woodyard will see plenty of playing time because Evans is going to have to be used off the EDGE at times because the Titans are thin there.
- Logan Ryan and Malcolm Butler are listed as the starting corners. Ryan will slide inside when they go to nickel.
- Adam Humphries is listed as the starting punt returner. I still don’t understand what happened to Adoree Jackson as a punt returner, but they can’t afford to run him out there this year.
