As always, the depth chart is always labeled as unofficial.
The Cleveland Browns released their first depth chart of the regular season on Tuesday, leading up to their Week 1 match-up against the Tennessee Titans.
The team refers to it as an “unofficial” depth chart, so nothing should be taken as being locked in. Here are the things of note from the depth chart:
- The team is still rolling with Eric Kush as the starting right guard, but Wyatt Taylor would be ready to jump in if needed.
- It stands out more when you see the depth chart — the fact that the No. 4 receiver on this club is an unknown in terms of working with Baker Mayfield. No biggie — the offense should mostly feature the top three receivers anyway, and before we know it, Antonio Callaway will be back.
- The depth chart lists three linebackers, but in reality, there will be a fifth defensive back in the game most of the time — probably Jermaine Whitehead.
- The kick return and punt return spots are up-in-the-air. It will probably be one of either Dontrell Hilliard or D’Ernest Johnson, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else jumps in front to take on those roles.
