Rams franchise quarterback Jared Goff is getting paid big-time. Los Angeles announced on Tuesday that it has signed the fourth-year signal caller to a four-year extension. We had some idea what the figures looked like, including the most guaranteed cash in NFL history. But the overall details of the deal are absolutely mind-boggling. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Goff will get $134 million over four seasons with an NFL-record $110 million in guarantees. The previous high-water mark for guaranteed cash was Carson Wentz at $108 million. Before that, Russell Wilson set the record with $107 million earlier in the offseason. Goff is also going to earn an average of $33.5 million annually. That’s tied with Aaron Rodgers for the third-highest per-year figure in NFL history. Overall, he’s going to earn $161 million over the next six seasons. That, too, is a record in terms of total cash in the NFL.
