Two days removed from the passing game’s Limp at Lambeau. I’m still mad.
Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Well, it’s been almomst two days now (or more than two days, depending on when you log on and read this) since the game in Lambeau. I’m still unhappy, and I have reasons. I don’t like to complain constantly about one of the Vikings players, so I don’t do it. If someone has a bad game, I’ll point it out, just like I point out the good games. I like Kirk, and I think he’s a talented QB, and I’ve said that since the rumors about him coming to Minny first began. I don’t like the contract, which I’ve also maintained since it all began. I say all this because I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m ragging on Kirk Cousins. I’m not.
BUT........we had a chance to win on Sunday after starting out 21 points down. In Green Bay. In front of those fans. It’s perfect, you let them think they’re going to watch a blowout, they all go bonkers on the gravy and Miller Lite because they think it’s an easy win. They get cocky, talk loud, then.........you destroy their day. Their week. The entire team rallied to accomplish this beautiful feat........with the exception of our quarterback, he was terrible. My anger at him won’t last long, I have no doubt that he’ll return to form, but for now, I’m still mad at him. I hate that team, I hate their colors, I hate cheese, and I hate Miller Lite. Now I have to wait until almost Christmas to see the Vikings beat them. Maybe we’ll clinch the North before then to tide me over until the game.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted stopped by to have a TED talk, week two.
Uh-oh, someone else wants to have a talk, it’s Zim Tzu. We’re in for it now.
Other Vikings and NFL news, other sports news, and random oddities and annoyances:
Over at Vikings.com, hear Coach Zimmer’s Monday presser, see the next-gen stats on Cook’s long touchdown run, and there’s lots more for you to sift through in the media vault.
From Yahoo Sports, Ben Rothlisberger is out for the rest of the season. Ouch.
A couple of disgruntled player rumors/stories from The Sporting News: DE Taco Charlton wants to be traded out of Dallas, and Jalen Ramsey would like to be traded out of Jacksonville (who doesn’t?).
The Browns defeated the Jets last night, from ESPN.
According to CBS Sports, Drew Brees will need surgery and will miss games. I assume they’re talking about football games and not games of Monopoly, so that means thatTeddy should see some action. Good deal, build some confidence back up in the kid so that when fate brings him back to Minnesota, he’ll be ready to take off running.
We come to today’s media selection:
Here’s a great one by the more-than-great Allman Brothers. Enjoy!
We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
- No discussion of politics or religion
- No feeding of the trolls
- Leave the gender hatred at the door
- Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
- Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
- No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
- If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
- While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t tip the cows don’t forget to tip your waitress, and all we have to eat today is moldy cheese, enjoy.
