The national media was not too impressed with the Browns’ first win of the season.

CBS Sports - No. 19 (down 2 spots)
It wasn’t a great showing against the Jets, but it was better. Baker Mayfield has to take better care of the football, starting this week against the Rams.
ESPN - No. 19 (down 2 spots)
Pleasant surprise: Rookie place-kicker Austin Seibert, who struggled throughout training camp, has been rather solid through two games. Seibert missed his first extra point try in Week 1. But Monday, he nailed all three field goals, including a 48-yarder. The fifth-round pick clearly has the talent to solidify the Browns kicking game, along with punter Jamie Gillan, a fellow rookie.
NFL.com - No. 15 (up 6 spots)
Getting the injury-ravaged Jets was a perfect antidote for the Browns after their Week 1 stumble. The highlight of the 23-3 win was a slant pass from Baker Mayfield to Odell Beckham Jr., who took it 89 yards to the house. It was the longest play of Beckham’s career and it came in the building where he became a star with the Giants. The TD also served as a statistical lifesaver for Mayfield, who was not sharp against a talent-deficient Jets secondary. On the other side of the ball, Myles Garrett is up to five sacks in 2019 after recording three on Monday. The former No. 1 overall pick is an early favorite for Defensive Player of the Year. The Browns have effectively rebooted their season at 1-1 and will compete in a division where Ben Roethlisberger is no longer a factor. Still plenty of reason for optimism in Believeland.
MMQB - No. 20 (down 1 spot)
Six catches for 161 yards and an 89-yard TD—that’s why OBJ-to-Cleveland was the talk of the early offseason. The Browns get stiffer competition this week.
Yahoo Sports - No. 18 (down 1 spot)
Myles Garrett is going to make a run at NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The Jets offense was dysfunctional but nobody could block Garrett. He had three sacks on Monday night.
Bleacher Report - No. 19 (down 1 spot)
Given the final score of Monday’s game between the Browns and Jets, one might think Cleveland had righted the ship and shaken off last week’s home beatdown at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. Maybe even believe they earned a bump in these rankings.
One would be wrong. There were bright spots for the Browns, sure. Defensive end Myles Garrett was a force, and Baker Mayfield found Odell Beckham Jr.r for an 89-yard scoring strike that blew the game open.
But this result had more to do with the Jets being terrible than the Browns being good. Garrett also tallied a pair of personal foul penalties. Mayfield was inaccurate much of the night and threw a pick.
”The Browns won a game they had to win against an overmatched team,” Davenport said. “But an offense that some built up as potentially being one of the best in the league is still moving in fits and starts. The next game won’t be against Luke Falk and the Jets. It’ll be Jared Goff and the Rams. And I haven’t seen anything from this team to indicate it’s up to that challenge.”
