What was the most important play of Monday night’s loss to the Cleveland Browns?
This is the type of game where it is difficult to judge. The Browns took an early lead and always seemed to be in control. The way the Jets were playing offense, it felt like a victory was going to be an uphill battle.
I think I would have to go with Odell Beckham, Jr’s 89 yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter that gave the Browns their 23-3 final margin.
At that point the Jets had just stalled in the red zone after finally putting together a decent drive. At 16-3 they were still theoretically in striking distance. One touchdown could have made it a game. If I was a Browns fan I probably would have felt uncomfortable that my team hadn’t put away an opponent with such a struggling offense.
After the Beckham touchdown the Browns took a three score lead. The way the Jets were struggling to move the ball, that was an insurmountable lead. The game was out of reach.
That’s why it’s my pick for the most important play.
What is yours?
