The California Golden Boy is here to stay!
The Los Angeles Rams are finalizing a contract extension with starting quarterback Jared Goff, per Mike Silver and Ian Rapaport:
The #Rams & QB Jared Goff have made significant progress on a long-term contract extension that will be done in the coming days, sources say. The deal should pay him more than $32M per year and allow him to cash in early, similar to Carson Wentz. LA locking up more of its future.

As the tweet says, the extension will net Goff roughly $32m/year, which would place him in similar territory as fellow draft pick QB Carson Wentz. This would place Goff at fourth (tied with Wentz) for average per year.
Goff was always going to be the Rams’ guy, regardless of the hoopla fed from media proclaiming that Head Coach Sean McVay might be the coach to take a shot at replacing his quarterback with a cheaper version.
In three seasons, Goff has totaled 9,581 passing yards, 65 touchdowns, 26 interceptions, and a 24-14 overall record. Goff also has a playoff record of 2-2, bringing his team to a Super Bowl appearance (last year). The Rams’ young signal caller made back-to-back pro bowls the past two seasons, giving the Rams a clear indication that this was the guy they wanted to build around.
Currently, the Rams have $1.5m in cap space, per Over The Cap.
UPDATE:
The #Rams and QB Jared Goff are expected to execute a 4-year deal that is trending toward the largest guarantee in NFL history, source said.
