Bengals at Ravens: Odds, expert picks and predictions

How much of an underdog are the Bengals as they visit the Ravens?

The Bengals and Ravens have usually kept things competitive over their time of playing each other. In fact, the series is tied at 23-23. This week, though, the oddsmakers and experts don’t seem to have much confidence in Cincinnati.

Odds

The Bengals are currently 10.5-point underdogs against the Ravens, according to Bovada. There shouldn’t be much of a surprise here. Cincinnati hasn’t done much to inspire confidence from the oddsmakers. Yet, for as bad as the Bengals have been they have kept three of their five games within one score. It is clear that the oddsmakers view this as another potentially one sided affair as the Bengals travel to Baltimore.

Betting trends

  • Cincinnati is 6-3 against the spread in their last nine games.
  • The total has gone under in four of Cincinnati’s last six games.
  • Cincinnati is 0-7 straight up in their last seven games.
  • Cincinnati is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against Baltimore.

  • Baltimore is 0-5 against the spread in their last five games at home.
  • Baltimore is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games when playing at home against Cincinnati.

  • Baltimore is 2-4 straight up in their last six games played in week 6.

Expert predictions

  • Fox Sports predicts a 21.4 to 27.8 loss for the Bengals
  • All nine of ESPN’s experts are going against Cincinnati this week
  • CBS Sports also has all of their experts picking the Ravens
  • None of SB Nation’s experts (even Baxter the good dog) risked taking the Bengals
  • NFL Pick Watch, which takes into account picks from experts across the web, currently has the Bengals receiving no picks this week against the Ravens

Cincinnati has a history of keeping things close with Baltimore no matter how different the talent levels of the two teams appear. The Ravens are also coming off an extremely close game against the Steelers last week, so it would be fair to think the Bengals have a sliver of hope against this Ravens team.

Cincinnati has talked about making some changes to who is playing this week, and that always inspires hope. That could get some players who haven’t necessarily looked their best kicking it up a notch knowing that they could be next. When you’re a fan of an 0-5 team it is just hard to see them looking competitive with teams who are actually competing for postseason spots still.
