Broncos “teams” far from “special”

BRONCOS CHIEFS

The fake punt vs the Chiefs is the latest example in what remains a glaring problem for the organization.

Good morning, Broncos Country!

Three days later, one thing still makes no damn sense.

On a night and in a game full of bewildering and dumbfounding events from the Denver Broncos, this one rises to the top like rotten cream.

WTF was that fake punt?

As I told Adam Malnati on the MHR Radio Podcast (Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify), that play highlighted the 30-6 turd fest against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.

I get the aggressive call from Vic Fangio, but the sloppy design and execution made it look as though the Broncos had never worked on that specific fake punt. It highlights why Broncos Country needs to, henceforth, refer to them as the “teams.” The only thing “special” about them, as I said in the winners and losers article, is how especially awful they are.

“Teams” remain a glaring problem for the organization. At least we can say the Broncos are consistent, right? There are flashes here and there, but for the most part, it’s been a hindrance. Obviously a change won’t happen until the season is over, but here’s hoping Denver shows some kind of improvement over the remainder of the season.

And if the Broncos decide to call another fake punt, at least make it looks like they’ve practiced it before.
