Duane Brown doubtful for Week 6

Entering the 2018 season many fans of the Seattle Seahawks were wary of the age of the left side of the offensive line and in particular were worried that Mike Iupati and his history of injuries could miss significant time. So far this season Iupati has played in every game, though he did not start and logged only a single snap in the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, the Seahawks released their final Week 6 injury report ahead of the showdown with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and it’s the other starter on the left side of the line the team may be without, as the team listed Duane Brown as doubtful for the Browns game.

In addition to Brown being unlikely to play due to the biceps injury he suffered against the New Orleans Saints, right guard D.J. Fluker was also listed as doubtful and Ethan Pocic has been downgraded to out. Pocic has been inactive for the last three games with a back injury, and that back injury finally landed him on injured reserve.

Thus, Pocic is out until at least mid-December, as he must spend a minimum of eight games on injured reserve before being eligible to return prior to the Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers. There’s been no word on the severity of Pocic’s back injury, and if conservative treatment is sufficient to allow him to return to action, then a late-season return could be possible. However, if his injury is severe enough to require surgery, it would seem less likely that he will come back from injured reserve later this season.

Lastly, running back Rashaad Penny is listed as questionable with the hamstring injury that kept him out of the games against the Saints and Arizona Cardinals, and limited him to just a half dozen carries against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4.

The inactives report will be very interesting for this game.
