Fact: Thomas Dimitroff trademarked the phrase “It’s on like Donkey Kong!!”
Oh, hello Falcoholics! Happy Wednesday!
You’ve had a long journey. Sit down, relax, enjoy an ice cold adult beverage. Is it links ye came for? Argggghhhh! Then it’s links ye shall have!
More on Sunday’s loss
The loss to the Texans was illuminating in many ways. First, it crushed any remaining hopes we had of a successful playoff run. We simply won’t need to worry about playoff football this season. Whew! What a relief! Second, it exposed the Falcons offense and defense for what they are. David Walker and Evan Birchfield got together to discuss that and more during this week’s podcast. You should check it out.
Our staff had some reactions to Sunday’s loss. And let’s just say it got real; maybe too real. But that’s to be expected, because Sunday’s loss wasn’t just bad; it was the worst defensive performance since 2004.
Last but not least, this week’s edition of “hat tips and head scratchers” highlighted some of the best and worst from Sunday’s game.
The Falcons are a bad football team
Looking for answers? Then start with snap counts from Sunday’s game. And if you need reality to smack you in the face, then look no further, because Corey Woodroof had some cold hard truths for us yesterday. He broke down 5 things we learned after the loss to the Texans.
Roster moves on roster moves
There were a flurry of roster moves yesterday. Johnathan Cyprien was placed on injured reserve. Because Matt Wile can’t seem to keep kickoffs on the field, the Falcons decided to sign free agent punter Sam Irwin-Hill to their practice squad. The Falcons also re-signed offensive lineman John Wetzel and signed cornerback DJ White to the active roster.
