It’s good to learn something when you fail. The Falcons haven’t learned much from their failures this season. Or, at a minimum, they haven’t been able to adapt and stop failing. Front office shenanigans

The Falcons front office must be a fun place to work these days. Every day is Hawaiian shirt day and the water coolers are filled with cheap energy drink. This is the front office that cut Matt Bryant, only to re-sign him for more money when their plan B didn’t work out. And this is the front office that decided to cut Matt Bryant again yesterday, because his 5 missed field goals this season (4 of which were 50+ yard attempts) are undoubtedly what ails the Falcons.

The Falcons signed former Georgia Southern kicker Younghoe Koo to replace Bryant.

Getting a second round draft pick in exchange for 9 regular season games worth of Mohammed Sanu’s services felt good. Because the Falcons have made it their annual tradition, no additional trades were made prior to yesterday’s trade deadline.

Dan Quinn

Is it fair to blame Quinn for everything that’s gone wrong this season? No, probably not. But at some point, even if it’s not until the end of the year, the Falcons will move on from Quinn. I suppose there’s a slim chance Arthur Blank finds a way to justify retaining Quinn, especially if the Falcons rattle off 3-4 wins between now and the end of December. But that seems like a pipe dream (Quinn’s, not ours) at this point.
