Lions at Packers Monday Night Football open thread

It’s the final game of Week 6 tonight with the Detroit Lions traveling to the not frozen yet tundra of Lambeau Field to take on the 4-1 Green Bay Packers. This NFC North rivalry game has some significance to Raider Nation as well with the Packers being the next opponent the Raiders will be facing off against.

The Packers are of course led be a duo of Aarons in Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones on offense, though they will again be without their leading receiver Davante Adams who is battling a turf toe injury. Still, when you have Aaron Rodgers at QB you have a potent offensive attack, and adding fuel to the fire is the fact that in the last meeting between these two teams the Lions shut out the Packers 30-0.

Rodgers had missed that game with an injury last year, but the Packers will be eager to get some revenge after a shelling like that. The Lions on the other hand are led by QB Matthew Stafford and are sitting at 2-1-1 on the season. A win against the division leading Packers and a 3-1-1 record for Detroit is more than enough motivation for them in this one.

The NFC North is a wildly competitive division actually with all 4 teams currently at .600 or above on the season so every divisional game is huge for them. With that in mind this game has the promise to be an exciting one, let’s hope the reality of the game fulfills that promise.

As always, chat here with your fellow Raiders fans!
