Seahawks to wear “Action Green” uniforms vs. Rams

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are going green on Thursday. Very green.

For fans of the “Action Green” uniforms that the Seahawks unveiled in 2016, guess what? They’re coming back for the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Back when the NFL was all about the “Color Rush” theme for Thursday Night Football, the Seahawks unleashed that alternative uniform against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15 of the 2016 season. They brought it out again when they won at the Arizona Cardinals in 2017, and most recently sported it for their Monday Night Football win over the Minnesota Vikings last season.

In other words, a 3-0 record and they held opposing teams to a combined 26 points. If we thought “Wolf Grey” was money (a 10-1-1 record thus far), the Seahawks have shown themselves to be literally unbeatable when wearing those highlighters from Office Depot uniforms.

Of course, some of you may remember when the Seahawks had another green uniform back in the day.

Chicago Bears v Seattle Seahawks

Unlike the undefeated “Action Green” Seahawks, the 2009 “Lime Green” Seahawks lost 25-19 to the Chicago Bears. Jim Mora was somehow not criminally charged for repeatedly running over kicker Olindo Mare with the team bus.

So whether you love or hate “Action Green,” the Seahawks are wearing ‘em again on Thursday. The NFL did not make Color Rush mandatory as of last year, but that doesn’t mean Seattle can’t trot it out once per year.
