MNF: Ravens vs Rams Game Thread

Monday Night Football, Week 12. Tonight the Baltimore Ravens make the long trip west to La La Land to take on the Los Angeles Rams.

The 8-2 Ravens have not lost a game since September. They come into this game looking like perhaps the best team in the NFL. Winners of six straight, including a demolition of the 10-1 New England Patriots, the Ravens are best in the NFL in a wide range of categories. They are first in points per game. First in first downs. First in time of possession. First in rushing attempts, rushing yards and rushing yards per attempt. First in scoring percentage, first in plays per drive, first in yards per drive, first in points per drive. This is an absolute juggernaut of an offense, a team that has not scored less than 23 points in a game all year.

The Ravens are running the ball at an absurd pace. They have rushed for 2031 yards in 10 games. No other NFL team has rushed for more than 2000 yards in its first 10 games since the NFL stone ages of the 1970s. The last team to do it was the 1978 New England Patriots.

Led by superstar second year sensation Lamar Jackson, this Ravens team looks nearly unstoppable. Lamar Jackson has 781 rushing yards this season, the seventh most by a quarterback in a single season all-time with six games still to play. Jackson has seven straight games with at least 60 rushing yards, the longest streak by a quarterback all-time.

In contrast to the Ravens, the Los Angeles Rams come into this game struggling a bit. Quarterback Jared Goff is having a poor year, and the Rams defense has taken a step backwards this year as well. The Rams come into this game losers of four of their last seven games, their only wins in that stretch coming against the bottom dwelling Falcons, Bengals and Bears. The once high flying Rams offense has failed to exceed 17 points scored in three of their last five games. This is a crucial game for the Rams as they struggle to stay in contention for an NFC wild card spot.

It’s the Ravens and the Rams tonight on Monday Night Football.

Enjoy the game everybody.
