This week, the crew breaks down the impact of the Tua Tagovailoa injury on the 2020 NFL Draft and asks if this week against the Steelers is the one where the team gets off the schneid.
The losses have reached double-digits, as Zac Taylor has the dubious distinction of tying Dave Shula for the worst start under a rookie head coach in franchise history. Unfortunately, quarterback changes, shedding veteran contracts off of the books and other shell game acts haven’t resulted in Taylor’s first NFL victory.
The losses are creating more long-term concerns for Taylor and Co. Recently, Tyler Boyd voiced frustration with the team’s vision and his role on offense, while Joe Mixon continues to apologize to fans via social media for the continuing defeats.
What is this lost year doing to the psyche of the team? Should we be concerned that two of the team’s better players, who are also under contract next year, are exhibiting their anger on how 2019 is spiraling out of control?
And, while the team is giving Ryan Finley a shot, they have one eye on the 2020 NFL Draft and the quarterback class. Unfortunately, one of the big names of the class in Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, suffered a significant injury last weekend. How does this impact the draft and the team’s plans?
