Thursday Night Football open thread: Steelers at Browns

The Steelers are on a roll, while the Browns are trying to find their groove.

Coming into the 2019 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns were both primed for the spotlight in the AFC North. Now as Week 11 kicks off, it is the Baltimore Ravens riding high, while the Steelers and Browns are vying for ground and a playoff spot. Both teams have done so in vastly different ways.

The Steelers immediately felt the loss of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, losing four of their first five games. However, their defense has helped Pittsburgh rattle off four wins in a row. Since being acquired from the Miami Dolphins, Minkah Fitzpatrick has been instrumental to Pittsburgh’s surge, and with James Conner back in the lineup tonight, they will look to regain ground on the Ravens.

The Browns, meanwhile, are failing to live up to the preseason hype, and despite coming off a win over the Buffalo Bills, a 3-6 record has a majority of the fanbase wondering whether Freddie Kitchens is the man for the job. Odell Beckham Jr. has been quiet thus far as a Brown, and while second-year back Nick Chubb is thriving, fellow second-year teammate Baker Mayfield has endured a sophomore slump. Tonight would be a good time to bounce back if Cleveland wants to make the playoffs.
