The Lions added the tight end to the injury report Saturday night.
The Detroit Lions announced Saturday night that starting tight end T.J. Hockenson has been added to the injury report with a shoulder injury. Hockenson has been designated as questionable for the team’s game Sunday at Washington.
The Lions promoted Hockenson’s fellow rookie tight end Isaac Nauta, a seventh-round pick out of University of Georgia, from the practice squad to the 53-man roster early Saturday. With fullback Nick Bawden also injured, it’s possible Nauta could pick up work at both positions.
Hockenson adds to a long list of offensive weapons for the Lions facing injury, with starters Matthew Stafford and Kerryon Johnson both missing extended time with injuries this season. Hockenson also missed time earlier in the year when an attempted hurdle against a Kansas City Chiefs defender in Week 4 left him with a concussion.
Hockenson has appeared in all 10 games for the Lions this season, posting 26 catches for 349 yards and two touchdowns.
