Draft order set for non-playoff teams

This article thankfully has little to do with the Bills

For the better part of two decades, Buffalo Bills fans knew where Buffalo would be picking in the draft by the time the last game was played.

In 2019, however, that is not the case thanks to a playoff spot that was clinched in Week 15. The non-playoff teams, however, know where they stand when it comes to the NFL’s annual player-selection meeting. Here is how those teams stack up, with their win-loss record in parenthesis.

1.) Cincinnati Bengals (2-14)

2.) Washington Redskins (3-13)

3.) Detroit Lions (3-12-1)

4.) New York Giants (4-12)

5.) Miami Dolphins (5-11)

6.) Los Angeles Chargers (5-11)

7.) Carolina Panthers (5-11)

8.) Arizona Cardinals (5-10-1)

9.) Jacksonville Jaguars (6-10)

10.) Cleveland Browns (6-10)

11.) New York Jets (7-9)

12.) Oakland Raiders (7-9)

13.) Indianapolis Colts (7-9)

14.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9)

15.) Denver Broncos (7-9)

16.) Atlanta Falcons (7-9)

17.) Dallas Cowboys (8-8)

18.) Miami Dolphins (from Pittsburgh Steelers in Minkah Fitzpatrick trade)

19.) Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears in Khalil Mack trade)

20.) Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams in Jalen Ramsey trade)

For playoff teams, their spot will be determined by how far they advance in the playoffs and then the records of those teams that lose in the same round.

An interesting side note is that Miami fans should be pulling for Buffalo on Saturday. The Dolphins hold the Texans’ first-round pick and the quicker the exit for them, the better the draft pick for the fish.
