The most surprising aspect of this move is how long it took to happen. It has seemed for weeks like Mosley was a longshot to return to the lineup in 2019.
Mosley had a lost first year with the Jets, only suiting up in two games. He first suffered the groin injury in the Week 1 loss to the Bills. He left during the second half of that game never to return. He was having a great game at the time of the injury. While the team expressed optimism he would be back in time for Week 2, he suited up only once more in 2019. It was in a game a few weeks later against the Patriots where he did not look like himself.
The Jets signed Mosley to a huge free agent contract in the offseason, convincing him to leave the Ravens.
