Let’s get it started!
It’s been fifteen days since the last time we saw the Minnesota Vikings in action, and now we get an opportunity to find out whether the wait was worth it. Tonight, the purple take on the Seattle Seahawks in one of their two remaining prime time contests this season. Both of these teams would be in the playoffs. . .as Wild Card teams. . .if the season ended today, but they each also have division title aspirations that would get a huge boost with a victory tonight.
Here is everything you need to know about tonight’s game.
Date and Time: Monday, 2 December, 2019, 7:15 PM Central time
Location: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington
Television Coverage: ESPN
Radio Coverage: Vikings Radio Network, Sirius Channel 81, XM Channel 225, SiriusXM App Channel 819
Line:
Chris’ Prediction: Seahawks 27, Vikings 24
Three keys
1) Keep Kirk Cousins upright - In last year’s game between these two teams, Cousins was under siege from the first snap of the game, and as a result the offense couldn’t get a heck of a lot going. The Vikings’ pass protection has been better this season, and the Vikings have done a better job of moving the pocket on rollouts, particularly with play-action. If the Vikings can keep Cousins on his feet rather than on the turf, there are some plays to be had against this Seattle secondary.
2) Contain Russell Wilson - I’m not going to say “Stop Russell Wilson” because, hey, he’s Russell Wilson. While we expect that Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen will be bringing the heat off the edges, the Vikings need the interior pressure to step up and prevent Wilson from moving up in the pocket. Wilson is going to make his plays, but the Vikings need to do their best to limit him as much as possible.
3) No slow starts - Against the Broncos last week, the Vikings looked terrible for a lot of the first half, and went into the locker room down 20-0. With all due respect to the Broncos, if you get down 20-0 at halftime to the Seahawks in their building, the odds are better that you’ll lose 40-0 than they are of you having another epic comeback. The Vikings got off to a flying start against Dallas a couple of weeks ago, and they need to be much closer to that than what we saw against Denver. This team doesn’t want to play from behind.

We are less than an hour from kickoff in Seattle, folks. That should be all of the important information you need in order to be prepared for tonight’s big game. Remember, we start a new discussion thread at the start of each quarter, so make sure to keep your eyes open for that.
Let’s enjoy tonight’s action from the Pacific Northwest and, hopefully, we can all meet up in about three hours to celebrate the Vikings moving to 9-3.
SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
