The Raiders announced that they’ve elected to sign six of the eight players on their practice to Reserve/Future contracts.
Those signed include: DE Ade Aruna, DB Jordan Brown, DE Kendall Donnerson, OL Kyle Kalis, C Erik Magnuson, and WR Anthony Ratliff-Williams.
Those six players will likely be among the 90 invited to practice with the Raiders during the offseason, and they’ll each have the opportunity to crack the 53-man roster if they prove themselves worthy.
Aruna, a recent signing, is particularly intriguing. He has an ideal frame and length for the defensive end position and ran a 4.60 40-yard dash at the NFL combine prior to the 2018 draft. He’s been injured for the better part of the last two seasons, but if he can get healthy and show promise, he could be a sleeper heading into 2020.
The other player among this sextet who is a serious threat to crack the 2020 53-man roster is Magnuson, who had a short stint there during the season after being signed to help fill the cracks of an injury-riddled interior offensive line.
Magnuson has some starting NFL experience and provides versatility needed among reserve linemen. With Denzelle Good and Jordan Devey’s contracts both expiring, Magnuson has a shot to earn a backup role.
