Stock Watch: Stocks to avoid following Week 16

NFL: Preseason-Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Parker

Parker was given a chance to start in place of injured Trent Brown and he completely blew it. After allowing two sacks, Parker was benched in favor of David Sharpe.

Although he has only seen limited action, Parker has failed to show the growth you’d like to see in his second year. The former third round pick is looking more and more like a bust.

Jalen Richard’s role

This isn’t a knock on Jalen Richard, but he has seemingly taken a back seat to DeAndre Washington with Josh Jacobs on the shelf. In each of the games that Jacobs has missed, it was Washington who was the featured back.

Washington has dominated the touches as well with 45 to Richard’s 18. You would think Richard’s role would have expanded with Jacobs out but that has not been the case.

Richard was dealing with an injury that he suffered during the game that might explain the lack of usage, but nonetheless, Washington is clearly ahead in the pecking order.

Chances of drafting CeeDee Lamb

There are many areas on this team where talent is still lacking, even after a great 2019 draft class. One of those positions is wide receiver. The fan base has been clamoring for Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb is the No. 2 prospect at the position after Jerry Jeudy of Alabama. It will likely take a top 10 pick to land Lamb. According to tankathon.com, the Raiders currently hold the 14th and 18th (Bears pick) picks in the first round.

Our editor in chief, Cyril Penn posted his seven round mock draft today, and has the Raiders selecting Henry Ruggs III. The Alabama product with legit 4.2 speed would be a great consolation prize.
