But this was basically a walkthrough
The Minnesota Vikings held their first practice of the week on Wednesday in preparation for their NFC North matchup with the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium. By all accounts, today’s practice was basically a walkthrough, as players were out there in sweat pants and jerseys, so we’ll likely have to see what Wednesday’s practice holds before we get a true feel for what things might look like for the Vikings on Sunday.
Here’s the report that the team released today.
Did Not Participate
- DT Linval Joseph (knee)
- OT Riley Reiff (concussion)
- WR Adam Thielen (hamstring)
Limited Participation
- RB Dalvin Cook (chest)
- DE Everson Griffen (knee)
- S Harrison Smith (hamstring)
- DT Shamar Stephen (knee)
- LB Eric Wilson (shoulder)
Cook is the one that most folks are the most concerned with, and with good reason. He’s been quoted several times since Monday night’s loss as saying that he will play on Sunday, but we’ll have to see how that shakes out. I’m not saying you might want to grab Alexander Mattison if he’s available in your fantasy football league, but I’m not not saying that, either.
We’ll obviously be monitoring Reiff and Thielen’s situations as well. Again, with today basically just being a walkthrough, we’ll probably start to get some real answers on Thursday.
