Runningback Alvin Kamara added to pro bowl; 11th Saint on the list
Third year running back Alvin Kamara has now been named to his 3rd straight pro bowl. Kamara had what some say an off year. It is a little drop off from his year 1 and 2 numbers. The biggest drop off was his touchdowns, his rookie year he had 13 touchdowns, year 2 he had 18 touchdowns, and this season he only had 6 touchdowns.
Every year of his career he has amassed 81 receptions. Since year 1 his numbers have slowly declined from 826, 709, to 533 yards this season. Still solid numbers for a running back but not the numbers were use to seeing from him.
Even though numbers were down, it was still a productive year for the Saints all star back. He totaled 797 rushing yards which is second most in his career, and 90 yards behind his career best. It may have been a slow year for Kamara finding the end zone yet he still had 1,330 scrimmage yards and was a key part to the Saints offense. Since joining the Saints Kamara has been one of the most flashy and skilled running backs in the league. Heading into a contract year Kamara will be hungry to have his best year yet.
With the late addition of Alvin Kamara the Saints now have a franchise record 11 total Pro Bowlers.
