The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the Modern-Era finalists for the class of 2020 on Thursday, and a pair of former Seahawks—one with a more storied career in Seattle than the other—were among the 15 who made the cut.

For guard Steve Hutchinson, it’s the third time in three years of eligibility he has made the final list. A seven-time Pro Bowler, and five-time All-Pro, for Hutchinson it seems more a matter of when, not if, he will be enshrined in Canton. The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta indicated 2020 may be the year:

A first round selection of the Seahawks in 2001, Hutchinson played the first five years of his career in Seattle, before departing via the infamous “poison pill” contract. The departure for Minnesota made Hutchinson an enemy of Seahawks fans for years, however prior to Seattle’s playoff game against the Lions in 2017 he raised the 12th Man flag—perhaps further proof time heals all wounds.
James, meanwhile, played all of seven games for the Seahawks in 2009, closing out his illustrious career in Seattle. Most notably, James spent seven years in Indianapolis, where he racked up an absurd 12,065 scrimmage yards in 96 games for the Colts. This is James’ fourth year as a finalist, in his sixth year of eligibility.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame will elect five of the 15 finalists for enshrinement on Saturday, February 1.
