And he has Vikings connections
On Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings signed a second player that was named a CFL All-Star this past season to a futures contract.
The team announced the signing of wide receiver Bralon Addison, who played last season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and was named a CFL East All-Star in 2019. According to TSN in Canada, he also has a relationship with current Vikings’ star receiver Stefon Diggs, who he reached out to prior to making his decision to sign with Minnesota.
Addison played his college football at the University of Oregon, and went undrafted in 2016. He originally signed with the Denver Broncos, but was waived by them and picked up by the Chicago Bears as a part of their practice squad. He was activated late in that 2016 season, and his one career NFL catch came against the Vikings, an 11-yard reception in the 2016 regular season finale at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Addison then moved on to Canada, and while he played sparingly early on, he blew up in 2019. The 5’9”, 197-pound Addison caught 95 passes for the Tiger-Cats in 2019, good for a total of 1,236 yards and seven touchdowns. His efforts helped Hamilton to reach the 2019 Grey Cup, where they ultimately lost to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Addison is the second CFL All-Star that the Vikings have signed to a futures contract since the end of the season. They also brought in cornerback Marcus Sayles from the Blue Bombers a week or so ago.
Welcome to Minnesota, Bralon Addison!
