Hopefully those issues will be gone soon
My apologies for missing the first injury report of the week yesterday, folks. We’ll get right into today’s, however, as there are some significant issues developing for your Minnesota Vikings.
Here is the report from Wednesday’s practice:
Did Not Practice
- CB Mackensie Alexander (knee)
- WR Stefon Diggs (illness)
- S Jayron Kearse (foot)
Limited Participation
- DT Linval Joseph (knee, upgrade from DNP)
- WR Adam Thielen (ankle, not listed on previous report)
Full Participation
- TE Tyler Conklin (knee)
- RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder)
- G Josh Kline (elbow)
- CB Xavier Rhodes (ankle/shoulder)
- DT Shamar Stephen (knee)
- DE Stephen Weatherly (foot)
No Longer Listed
- DE Ifeadi Odenigbo (hamstring, had been listed as full participant)
It’s a little bit disconcerting to see both of the Vikings’ starting wide receivers on the report, but hopefully their issues will be resolved before Saturday’s game. Diggs sat out his second straight practice with an illness, much like Andrew Sendejo and Stephen Weatherly did before the game last weekend. Hopefully whatever bug he has will clear itself up here shortly.
Thielen apparently injured his ankle during today’s practice session, which is why he was limited. We’ll obviously have to see what tomorrow’s final injury report holds for him. Hopefully, like Diggs, this is something that he’ll be able to overcome by the time the Vikings get to San Francisco.
We’ll also be keeping an eye on Jayron Kearse, who has yet to practice this week. The Vikings need depth in the secondary, particularly with Mackensie Alexander continuing to deal with a knee injury that will keep him out of Saturday’s game.
That’s the most recent injury report for the Vikings, everyone. With the game taking place on Saturday, the week’s final injury report will be out tomorrow rather than on Friday, and when we have it we’ll get it up here for you.
