Can you guess who most analysts have Cincinnati taking?
The Cincinnati Bengals, in about two and a half months, will be on the clock with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. It’s assumed they’ll take Joe Burrow, LSU’s superstar quarterback, but the talent on the defensive side of the ball could also prove irresistible.
Winning just two games this season, the Bengals had the No. 1 pick locked up prior to their Week 17 victory. It was a tough season for Cincinnati, and hopefully, a certain franchise quarterback may change their recent luck.
That said, let’s look into several recent mock drafts and who they have Cincinnati selecting.
Sports Illustrated’s Mock Draft 3.0 written by Kevin Hanson.
Bengals select Joe Burrow.
“All signs point to the Bengals moving on from Andy Dalton this offseason and making Burrow the face of the franchise. Winning the Heisman Trophy and leading LSU to a national championship, his toughness, poise under pressure and accuracy were on full display all season.”
CBS Sports’ Mock Draft written by R.J. White.
Bengals select Joe Burrow.
“Burrow got better as the season wore on and wowed in the College Football Playoffs. He doesn’t have a huge arm, but his accuracy is unquestionable. The Bengals lock in their new franchise QB.”
Draft Wire’s Mock Draft written by Luke Easterling.
Bengals select Joe Burrow.
“This has seemed like a foregone conclusion for so long, that we’re starting to get to the point in the process where rumors and speculation start to swirl to the contrary. Don’t buy into the boredom; Burrow has always been the guy for the Bengals, and that’s not going to change between now and draft day.”
NFL.com’s Mock Draft written by Chad Reuter.
Bengals select Joe Burrow.
“Now that the season is over, you’ll hear a lot of nitpicking about Burrow’s game, including his lack of elite arm strength. The Bengals saw what he did against elite college competition, however, and will shut out the noise.”
