The Browns’ beloved mascot had retired earlier this season.
This past season, the Cleveland Browns had a retirement game for Swagger, the real dog who served as a team mascot for over five years. My assumption at the time was that the handler was simply passing the torch to a younger dog in his son, Swagger Jr.
Sadly, the Browns announced today that Swagger has passed away:

The family who owned Swagger posted the following message to Facebook, saying that Swagger had been dealing with cancer for the past year, but that he had an unexpected stroke today that took his life.
Rest in peace, Swagger.
