The latest on the Cowboys free agency period.
That train to Las Vegas is getting heavy with ex-Cowboys. Maliek Collins, Jeff Heath and Jason Witten have all joined the Raiders for the 2020 season. You can add defensive tackle Daniel Ross to the list. He has reached an agreement with the Raiders.
Las Vegas has agreed to terms with defensive lineman Daniel Ross, according to his representation, DEC Management. Ross reunites with Rod Marinelli, who was the Cowboys defensive coordinator and now serves as the Raiders defensive line coach.
Rod Marinelli brings in Ross who saw limited action in his years with the Cowboys. In 2018 he played in 13 games with the Cowboys but missed all of last year with an injury. He also managed to get arrested during the season for marijuana and gun charges.
With the Cowboys adding a couple of vets in free agency at defensive tackle, they seem to be clearing out some of the other players at the position.
In other news, the Cowboys showed some interest in bringing in a free agent center but it didn’t happen.
The Vikings reached an agreement Thursday to re-sign free-agent center Brett Jones to a one-year contract, a source said.
Jones will sign a veteran minimum deal with a base salary of $910,000.
The Dallas Cowboys, who lost starting center Travis Frederick this week to retirement, also had interest in signing Jones.
The Cowboys were looking for a little more depth/competition at the position. Jones started most of a season for the New York Giants in 2017 but has since been primarily a backup for the Vikings.
