The official Jets Twitter handle will be tweeting reactions to the Monday Night Miracle tonight. They are starting a rewatch of the game at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
On Monday October 23, 2000, the Miami Dolphins visited the Jets on Monday Night Football. First place in the AFC East was on the line as both teams had a 5-1 record.
This was a hectic time on the New York sports scene. The Yankees and the Mets in the middle of the 2000 World Series. This was the one night the baseball teams had off, and the Jets filled the entertainment void.
It is one of the most iconic games in the history of the sport as the Jets rallied from a 30-7 deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game. After Miami reclaimed the lead, the Jets then drove down the field and scored the tying touchdown from the least likely receiver imaginable. The game went into overtime and past midnight before it was decided.
