How Jeff Okudah could fall to the Raiders

One mock draft has Ohio State star CB available at No. 12

I don’t put much weight into NFL mock drafts, partly because there are so many of them. But there’s no doubt that they’re fun, and sometimes they’re even eye-opening.

That was the case Monday during an NFL.com mock that had Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah falling all the way to No. 12 and the Raiders.

If that were to happen, it would be one of the most fortunate first-round scenarios for the Raiders in a long time.

Okudah is by far the best cornerback prospect in this draft and he is considered a sure top-five player.

He is a true impact player and the Raiders would be beyond fortunate if this actually happens as cornerback is one of the Raiders’ biggest needs and Okaduh has to be near the top of their draft board.

Still, this scenario seems unlikely. How did it happen in this mock?

There were two trades and an early run on offensive linemen. Four tackles went in the first nine picks.

Anything is possible, but this would be a wild scene. And, yes, if Okudah is, indeed, available at No. 12, the Raiders would have to take him and then address receiver at No. 19.
