Report: NFL teams will try to bring Eli Manning out of retirement

Eli Manning retired after a 16-year NFL career just a few months ago. Before the Hall of Fame discussions could even begin, teams are reportedly prepared to reach out to Manning to try and pull him out of retirement. According to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, multiple teams either have tried or plan to contact the 39-year-old to see if he will return to the NFL. However, the chances of Manning returning are nil, per Freeman. It’s hard to blame Manning for wanting to actually enjoy retirement and step away from the game. While he has his share of critics, he’s a two-time Super Bowl MVP that walked away from the game on his own terms. The fact that NFL teams are expected to reach out to him is a bit surprising. The offseason offers multiple starting-caliber quarterbacks with several other options that could be fill-in starters with even more upside.
