Breaking down Raiders’ mock drafts at No. 19

Several defensive options are getting mock draft love

We previously looked at SBNation.com’s mock draft results from their database of 59 mock drafts (it’s being updated often) with the No. 12 pick for the Raiders.

Now, we’re going to look at the No. 19 pick from the database:

  • LSU LB Patrick Queen (15.3%)
  • LSU CB Kristian Fulton (15.3%)
  • Alabama S Xavier McKinney (10.2%)

My thoughts:
Predictably, this pick is tougher to figure out and pinpoint than for the Raiders’ choice at No. 12. The best current options appear to be receivers CeeDee Lamb (Oklahoma) and Alabama receivers Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III.

If the Raiders do, indeed, choose a receiver at No. 12, the Raiders will likely go for defense at No. 19. So, these choices make sense in that way. In my last mock draft, I had the Raiders taking LSU safety Grant Delpit. The fact that they agreed to terms with presumed starter Damarious Randall on a one-year deal, could change that approach. My current thought is the Raiders will take Fulton at No. 19.

If the Raiders take a linebacker, I think they’d take Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray over Queen if they were both on the board. I could also see TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney being a possibility here as well. In short, expect a lot of different possibilities at this pick.
