Broncos and Henry Ruggs would be an incredible partnership

NCAA Football: Alabama at Auburn John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

The receiver from Alabama would fill a need for the Broncos and instantly make the offense better.

Good morning, Broncos Country!

The knowledge I possess on prospects for the NFL Draft could fill the thimble from Monopoly. Given I spend more time than my wife likes on the NFL, there’s no way I could dive into college football the way I would have to get that insight and remain married.

Now that we got that out of the way, I still want the Denver Broncos to find a way to get Henry Ruggs III. As I told Adam Malnati on the MHR Radio Podcast, if that means John Elway has to trade up to make it happen, do it.

Ruggs gives Drew Lock and the offense the weapon it needs to make it more difficult to defend and score more touchdowns. Of course part of this is due to Benjamin Allbright and his Orange and Blur talk, but the thought of Ruggs in Denver’s offense is incredible. The thought of Ruggs and Courtland Sutton paired together ... I want that.

I also think Elway and the Broncos use their second-round pick on an interior offensive linemen — perhaps Cesar Ruiz or Lloyd Cushenberry. Of course, this all depends on how the board falls and what teams do before Denver at No. 15. The run on quarterbacks and left tackles but also defensive players will let you know who could be there and if Elway will have to move up to get his guy.

In a couple of weeks, we’ll know for sure.
