Ruggs has long been a popular pick to the Broncos throughout this process and now we are under 24 hours until the Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock and the thought remains the same here. The fastest man in the draft will join Drew Lock, Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay in the Broncos offense.
The Broncos likely want a receiver come Thursday night so they’ll select the best remaining one on their board at 15 unless they want to trade up to ensure that they get their man which also seems likely.
Jeremiah has The Las Vegas Raiders taking Ceedee Lamb and the (surprise!) Tampa Bay Bucs taking Jerry Jeudy ahead of the Broncos. There are a host of teams behind the Broncos who would like to trade up for a receiver as well, so it will be a interesting to see how this all plays out.
I think most, including the Broncos would love this outcome. It would give the Broncos a solid number two receiver as well as a deep threat for quarterback Drew Lock. Ruggs’s speed will make safeties respect him over the top which should leave the middle of the field open for Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant to make plays. Add in his ability to YAC it to the house in the quick passing game and you get a big-time weapon here for the Broncos offense.
