The Arizona Cardinals met with a bounty of players early in the process and continue to work through their digital interviews as we are now just two weeks from the 2020 NFL Draft.
One player they got to early in the process was Jack Driscoll, the Auburn Tigers right tackle.
Driscoll is not a name you hear often in a talented tackle class, but he’s a name to know for day three.
When you watch Driscoll play the first thing that jumps off the page is how athletic he is. His explosive testing at the combine matched his strong work in pass protection in his time at Auburn.
When you look at Driscoll, there are things that right away suggest an NFL training program could get him to be a solid starter in the NFL.
Driscoll has a similar build and movement skills as longtime NFL and former Arizona Cardinals starter Daryn Colledge.
That’s a nice top end comp for Driscoll, whose arm length may relegate him to playing guard in the NFL.
Driscoll has a similar concern that players like Joe Dahl have struggled to overcome. The weight gain didn’t improve their work in the run game as much as hoped, leaving them as a roving backup in the NFL.
When you look at day three picks though, Driscoll is the type you gamble on, because of what you’ve seen on the tape and the athletic profile.
