Cesar Ruiz Scouting Report - The Draft Network
Cesar Ruiz enters the NFL after starting 31 games for Michigan with 26 of those coming at center and five at right guard. A blend of size, power, mobility and technique, Ruiz projects favorably to any interior spot along the offensive line at the next level. For such a massive man, Ruiz displays outstanding mobility and he is highly effective working laterally and in space. His versatility extends beyond just the ability to play any spot along the interior, he has the attributes needed to thrive in both gap and zone blocking run schemes. Ruiz does have room to grow with some timing elements in pass protection and he could benefit from dropping some bad weight on his frame. Ruiz projects as an early impact starter in the NFL with the upside to become the pillar of an NFL offensive line for years to come.
What to expect when the Eagles make draft day trades - BGN
The 2020 NFL Draft could be wild, with all the issues and hijinks of your work-related quarantine video chats (I don’t think Roger Goodell will want a virtual happy hour) and the added bonus of guys like Dave Gettleman and Mike Brown trying to figure out how to use a computer; Bill O’Brien having two tabs open: “how do I draft players” Google search and a weblink to the video chat because he doesn’t know to use the app; and the potential of seemingly random chime midway through the 2nd round when Les Snead logs in to actually get to make a pick. But there’s still plenty of normalcy on the horizon. Players will be selected, and many trades will be made. And the Eagles will make some of them. As I do every season, let’s preview what the Eagles can expect to pay or receive when they trade up or back in each round. Forget your draft pick value charts, this exercise is based on what teams actually do on draft day since the 2011 CBA changed rookie contracts.
Eagles 2020 NFL Draft preview: Wide receivers - PhillyVoice
Alshon Jeffery: Jeffery has trashed his own quarterback anonymously in the media over the span of a multiple years, he looked cooked last season, in that he appeared slower than usual and struggled catching the football, and now he has a serious Lisfranc injury that will require at least a nine-month recovery period. He’s still on the roster, for now, but I don’t expect Jeffery to suit up in a game with Carson Wentz ever again. [...] 4) Justin Jefferson, LSU: Trade up?!? For Justin Jefferson? Yep. By not signing a receiver in free agency, the Eagles have painted themselves into a corner by absolutely having to come away with one in the first round of this draft. If the top three receivers above are all gone, as we expected them to be, the Eagles may need to jump the Jaguars at 20, as well as beat out the Vikings behind them at 22, for Jefferson.
NFL draft’s deep WR crop has something for everybody, including the Eagles - Inquirer
“In combination with how [Jalen Reagor] was used, they had a litany of quarterback issues at TCU that affected his production. But he’s an exciting, explosive athlete that can win down the field, get yards after the catch. He’s really competitive in the red zone and is competitive going up to get the ball. He caught a Hail Mary at the end of the half against SMU as a true freshman. As a 5-11 receiver, he literally jumped over six different defenders to get the ball. He’ll high-point the ball in the red zone. He’s an excellent back-shoulder receiver. He had a bunch of good plays as a returner, on jet sweeps, in the Wildcat. They just didn’t do it very often. I’m not sure why. But he’s a guy who I think will wind up being a better pro than he was a college player. He reminds me of Curtis Samuel coming out of Ohio State or Brandin Cooks coming out of Oregon State. Just get them the ball in some YAC situations or throw it to them down the field and let them make plays.’’
A round-by-round look at how the roster stands now - PE.com
Obviously, teams need to hit on their first-round draft picks and, as outlined earlier in the week, the Eagles have done that. There is some definite star power here with defensive end Brandon Graham (2010), defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (2012), offensive tackle Lane Johnson (2013), and quarterback Carson Wentz (2016) having been recognized during their careers as All-Pros and/or Pro Bowl players. Defensive end Derek Barnett (2017) is a starter and a productive player, and offensive tackle Andre Dillard (2019) is in line to have his role upgraded, significantly perhaps, in 2020.
LeSean McCoy ready to make ‘right choice’ on new team - NFL.com
“I have a couple teams that I’m looking at,” McCoy said in a recent interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I’m just waiting for the right moment. This stuff is tricky right now, because there’s no visits. There’s no real activities with the teams as much as it used to be. The thing I can control is just making the right choice, going to an offense that fits. I want to go to a team that’s a winning franchise that have all the right pieces that’s waiting for me. The teams I’m looking at right now are those teams. I look forward to probably after the draft or right before the draft, signing on with a team.” [...] “I really just want to play two more years,” McCoy said. “If it doesn’t go well, just let your body talk to you. My body feels fine.”

2) Patrick Queen is a sleek athlete who ran a 4.50 40-yard dash (94th percentile) with a 10-4 broad jump (91st) and 35-inch vertical jump (64th) at the NFL Combine before a hamstring injury cut his day short. Those wheels are on display every time he steps onto the field. Queen diagnoses quickly and then he’s gone, racing past the blocker who was supposed to meet him a little further upfield and exploding from a perfect base through the hips of some poor running back.
2020 NFL draft: Projecting the most likely Pro Bowl players in the class - ESPN+
3. Kenneth Murray, ILB, Oklahoma. Chances to become Pro Bowl-caliber: 69%. Athleticism comp: Stephone Anthony. Inside linebacker is another position that scouts are particularly successful at forecasting, the model believes. That was evident this time last year when Devin White and Devin Bush led this same exercise. That — along with a strong 4.52 40-time, which puts Murray in the 91 percentile, per MockDraftable.com — is why the model is so confident in him despite being Scouts Inc.’s 25th-ranked player. His projection trailed White’s by just a hair. Given that Murray is expected to be a late first-rounder, the model will surely consider him the steal of this group.
Yannick Ngakoue rumors: How could the Giants land unhappy Jacksonville Jaguars’ pass rusher? - Big Blue View
There was a time when giving up the No. 4 pick and perhaps a late-round asset or two for Ngakoue and Jacksonville’s pick at No. 9 seemed workable. The problem, though, is that the Jaguars — per Mike Garafolo — are aiming for “a bounty of picks” that includes a first-rounder without surrendering that ninth overall pick. The Giants aren’t giving up the fourth overall pick. I doubt GM Dave Gettleman has any interest in dropping from No. 4 all the way down to No. 20, Jacksonville’s second first-round pick, for No. 4 for Ngakoue and pick No. 20 also seems unlikely.
Farewell to the XFL, the League That Was Better Than Expected - The Ringer
The XFL suspended operations on Friday, seemingly bringing an end to the second act of Vince McMahon’s grand football experiment. But there was plenty in its short life that was worthy of celebration.
