The Arizona Cardinals drafted Haason Reddick with the 13th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
At the time it was applauded as a heady move to help the team make one last gasp at a title run.
It didn't work.
Not because of Reddick in 2017, but instead because the Arizona Cardinals offense that was largely based around the multi-faceted talents of David Johnson lost Johnson after one half.
With that knowledge and how the first 12 picks fell in the 2017 NFL re-draft, it made a three-time Pro Bowler available at the 13th pick and someone who could have possibly saved the Cardinals season and maybe their future.
First, how the top 12 went:
1. Cleveland Browns - Patrick Mahomes
2. San Francisco 49ers - Deshaun Watson
3. Chicago Bears - George Kittle
4. Jacksonville Jaguars - Christian McCaffrey
5. Tennessee Titans - Myles Garrett
6. New York Jets - Jamal Adams
7. Los Angeles Chargers - Tre’Davious White
8. Carolina Panthers - Marshon Lattimore
9. Cincinnati Bengals - Ryan Ramczyk
10. Buffalo Bills - T.J. Watt
11. New Orleans Saints - Marlon Humphrey
12. Cleveland Browns - Chris Godwin
That means for the Arizona Cardinals, sitting with the 13th pick, the Arizona Cardinals take Alvin Kamara.
Kamara has been a phenom for the New Orleans Saints and brings the same skillset that David Johnson brought to Bruce Arians offense.
It was a tough choice, but knowing where the Cardinals went in 2017 made it a bit easier. Also, with only a couple of players, Eddie Jackson and the Cardinals own Budda Baker as big time defensive players available, it made the Kamara pick make the most sense.
Knowing how the top 12 fell, what would you have done for the Cardinals with the 13th pick?
