New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker is being sought by Broward County, Florida, authorities on four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
An arrest warrant was issued for Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar. The full affidavit says Baker, armed with a semiautomatic rifle, and Dunbar took money and luxury watches from four people at a party.
The Giants acknowledged the situation and released a statement on the matter Thursday after the issue of the warrant was made public.
“We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with DeAndre,” the statement said. “We have no further comment at this time.”
Baker was a first-round pick with the Giants during the 2019 NFL Draft. They traded back into the first round to get him, giving up the Nos. 37, 132 and 142 picks.
Baker finished his rookie season playing 16 games (15 starts) while recording 61 tackles (48 solo), eight passes defensed and two tackles for loss.
