There’s usually a golf tournament involved, but not this year
As we’ve seen in recent history, the Minnesota Vikings have had no shortage of players and coaches attempting to rally people together for a good cause, and we now have a former member of the Vikings looking for some assistance for charity.
Former Vikings’ linebacker Ben Leber is attempting to raise $1 million over the next couple of months for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospitals. This is taking place because, given the current environment with COVID-19, the golf tournament and Legends for Charity Events that Leber usually hosts every year will not be happening.
On this #GivingTuesdayNow we are launching our 8-week campaign for @StJude. Your generosity ensures no family will receive a bill while at St. Jude. Every dollar matters. Thank you!

If you would like to donate to the cause, you can do so in one of two ways:
- Go directly to the St. Jude’s website and make your donation there.
- Text MINNESOTA to 626-262
You can also set up your own fundraising campaign to help support the cause. Anyone that contributes or raises $250 will get themselves a custom t-shirt.
Not being able to have the usual fundraisers that generate a bunch of money for a really great charity certainly makes things more difficult. But, if I know Vikings fans and Minnesotans in general the way I think I do, that $1 million goal is well within reach.
So, if you’re interested in helping out in any way, make your contribution in one of the two ways mentioned above and get it done!
