The former Falcons running back is still searching for more money.
The Falcons cut running back Devonta Freeman after an uneven yet amazing career in Atlanta, highlighted by two Pro Bowls and one missed block. Still young for a running back as he enters his age-28 season, Freeman was never-the-less not worth his 2020 salary after three injury-plagued and ineffective seasons.
Freeman, known for his patience behind the offensive line, is reportedly just as patient in free agency. The veteran back has been been receiving interest, but not enough to get him to sign.

Per Silver, both the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles have shown interest in Freeman. However, it is unclear if the Jets still have interest after signing Frank Gore. The Eagles are rumored to be on the lookout for a backup to rookie Miles Sanders.
The Seahawks are kicking the tires on veterans, including Marshawn Lynch and Carlos Hyde, to help carry the load while Rashaad Penny heals up from an ACL injury.
Most surprising is the San Francisco 49ers failed to show interest in Freeman. Kyle Shanahan has taken a liking to some of his old Atlanta players, and Freeman was dominant in his blocking scheme.
Freeman will certainly have a role in 2020. However, his time as a highly-paid starter are over. It is unclear if he will find a team willing to pay him over $4 million for this season.
