Jaguars near top of list to sign Colin Kaepernick

San Francisco 49ers v Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are once again in the conversation for signing free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick, according to OddsShark.com.

Kaepernick’s protests against police brutality in 2016 did not go over well with NFL owners, front offices, and coaching staffs — he hasn’t played in three years, effectively blackballed by the league because he was an outspoken critic.

But now that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has not only gotten on board with public statements that law enforcement must do better in the face of overwhelming evidence proving racial inequality but calling for teams to sign Kaepernick, it’s now more likely than ever he’ll sign with a team this offseason.

Who’s the most likely team to sign him according to Vegas?

Which team will Colin Kaepernick be on for Week 1?

Baltimore Ravens +225

Seattle Seahawks +275

Houston Texans +400

Los Angeles Chargers +450

Kansas City Chiefs +600

Jacksonville Jaguars +750

Minnesota Vikings +800

Tennessee Titans +1000

Philadelphia Eagles +1200

We’ve been calling for the team to sign Kaepernick since the 2017 offseason and owner Shad Khan said he’d be “absolutely” okay with it. He has plenty of starting experience in the league, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. He thrives in the offensive style the Jaguars want to use, making smart, accurate throws to supplement a ground attack (which is also something he could contribute to).

And given the fact that he’s still currently unsigned, you could also bring him in under the agreement that he is competing for the job, but that Gardner Minshew has earned the starting spot for now.
